Abby Wambach crept closer to Mia Hamm's all-time international scoring record as the United States women's national team cruised to a 4-1 win over South Korea in front of 13,000 in Foxborough, Mass.
A 93rd minute penality kick pushed Wambach to within two of Hamm's 158 career goals. FC Kansas City defender Kristie Mewis scored her first international goal while Carli Lloyd and Lauren Cheney pilled on as well for the USWNT.
The match was game one of two against South Korea. The second to be played at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, New Jersey on Thursday, June 20th at 6:30pm CT on NBC Sports Network.
