The After Bar: USMNT 4 – Germany 3
Planting the Seed of Soccer Across America: Danny Beerseed
If you're going to celebrate your 100th birthday you might as well go big. The United States men's national team jumped out to a surprising 4-1 over Germany and then held on for a 4-3 win in the nation's capital, Washington, D.C. A sold-out crowd of over 47,000 packed RFK Stadium and saw Jozy Altidore return to the score sheet for the USMNT and a deuce for captain Clint Dempsey. A comical own-goal in the middle of the first half completed the scoring.
The Nats resume qualifying for the 2014 World Cup this Friday against Jamaica. Kickoff at 9:30 ET on BeIN Sport.
