VIDEO - Thierry Henry Bosses Matt Reis, Kills a Corner Flag
Planting the Seed of Soccer Across America: Danny Beerseed
There are few players that make more of an impact on-field when they're pissed off that New York Red Bulls striker Thierry Henry. Last week's 4-0 throttling at the hands of Atlantic Cup rivals D.C. United and the up-and-down, injury prone season for New York definitely had the former Arsenal man fired up.
A nice over-the-top ball from Connor Lade and a Reggie White-like "swim move" past midfielder Stephen McCarthy put Henry the perfect spot to chip stranded New England Revolution 'keeper Matt Reis. The cheeky chip was the difference in the Red Bulls 1-0 win.
Not satisfied with burning McCarthy and Reis the Red Bull Arena corner flag took the brunt of Henry's "celebration" with one swift kick. We threw "celebration" in quotes there because murdering the flag, scowling, and refusing to ackowledge your teammates as they surround and congratulate you doesn't really count as a celebration.
Oh... then Henry strained him hamstring which will see him out for at least three to four weeks.
Korner flag karma is a b*tch.
